Lithlethemba, a Xhosa word meaning ‘a ray of hope’ is the realisation of one woman’s dream, Ruby Basse.

Desiring to bring about social upliftment, and searching for an opportunity to make a difference in the travel and tourism industry, she created a business in 2003 based on a philosophy of service excellence, passionate delivery and absolute professionalism.

The desire for social change, which is Ruby’s personal passion, has influenced her in creating a sustainable business which makes a difference in the lives of others, particularly black women.
